I teach College Composition and Introduction to Literature. I have previously developed and taught first-year seminar courses focusing on reading and writing across the curriculum and exploring majors and careers. I have also taught high school English, supervised student teachers, and developed and taught a portfolio development course for nontraditional students seeking life experience credit. My research interests include college success and transition issues, the role of writing and reading in college success and career and major exploration, and the use of technology in teaching to improve student engagement and success.
I have published two textbooks:
Investing in Your College Education (2nd ed.) Wadsworth Cengage Learning, 2010
35 Ways to Discover a Major (2nd ed.) Wadsworth Cengage Learning, 2010
